Miss Universe 2022 delegates visit Miss Universe office

Here are the fourteen delegates who visited the Miss Universe organization headquarters office in New York City, United States. They got to meet the Miss Universe team and also took part in a makeup tutorial video for the official youtube channel of Miss Universe.

Miss Canada Amelia Tu – 31 July 2022

Amelia is a 20-year-old Chinese Canadian beauty from Vancouver, Canada. She is currently studying Biology and Business at the University of California, Berkeley. She is very conscious about the environment and has actively spread awareness about sustainability and looking after mother earth. She plans to discuss her contribution toward a green and eco-friendly lifestyle. Her interests include discovering different styles of dance. Growing up in a multicultural country like Canada, she has emerged herself into learning about cultures and traditions. Amelia started to explore dance, since was three years old and has already won a gold medal at International Models and Talent Dance Competition. A former winner of Miss Chinese Rose Princess 2020, she is fully committed to her Chinese heritage and Canadian background.

Miss Colombia María Fernanda Aristizábal – July 2022

Maria comes from a multicultural family of Basque descent, from Spain and France. She finished her elementary and high school education at the Catholic school Colegio Franciscano San Luis Rey and she graduated with a degree in social communication from Luis Amigó Catholic University in Medellin. In 2020, Maria has been crowned Senorita Colombia, she represented Quindío Department. As Senorita Colombia, she was supposed to compete in Miss Universe however, another national pageant acquired the franchise for Miss Universe. Later in 2022, Maria was appointed Miss Universe Colombia by the new organization, she was crowned in a private ceremony where many Colombian people came to celebrate her victory.

Miss Puerto Rico Ashley Cariño – 3 August 2022

Hailing from the Caribbean in the paradise island of Puerto Rico, Ashley was born to a pageantry family; her mother had previously competed in a beauty pageant. She has received certification to work as a psychosocial rehabilitator, specializing in working with children with cognitive diversity. Ashley suffers from (ADHD) attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, and her childhood has motivated her to pursue psychosocial rehabilitation and help other children going through similar backgrounds as herself. She is currently pursuing Aerospace Engineering at the University of Central Flordia and her goal is to one day work for NASA. Her advocacy is regarding helping children with ADHD at Insight Behavioral Health Specialists. In 2021, Ashley joined Miss USA where she placed as 2nd Runner Up, it has encouraged her to compete in Miss Universe Puerto Rico national pageant and ended in a courageous victory.

Miss Panama Solaris Barba – 7 August 2022

She is a Panamanian model, dancer, beauty queen, and television presenter. She graduated with a Specialization in Business degree and is studying marketing and international business from the Instituto Justo Arosemena. In 2018, Solaris participated in the Miss World beauty pageant in Sanya, China where she managed to place in the Top 12 semi-finalists and she also won the Miss World Americas title. Working as a  professional television reporter has uplifted her to be outspoken and confident in her communication skills. She is articulate with her thoughts and opinions, she has fluency and strong delivery in both Spanish and English languages.

Miss Saint Lucia Sheris Paul – 8 August 2022

Miss Venezuela Amanda Dudamel – 11 August 2022

She was born to a national football player in Mérida, Venezuela. While, growing up in many countries like Colombia, Chile, South Africa, and Italy. It has allowed her to experience new cultures and learn about different types of lifestyles. During her stay in Italy, she studied fashion design in Rome, Italy where she learned to speak Italian fluently. She is the founder and head designer of By Amanda Dudamel and co-founder of Beborn the Brand which contributes to the “Emprendiendo e Impactando” project. The profit is donated to support the “Un Par Por Un Sueño” foundation which helps provide daily food for over 1000 underprivileged people in Petare, Venezuela. The NGO also assists by giving job opportunities to the families, to support them to be financially stable and empower themselves to create a sustainable livelihood for their families.

Miss Thailand Anna Sueangam-iam – 14 September 2022

Anna was born to a low-income household in Bangkok, Thailand. Her father and mother work as garbage collectors for Bangkok Metropolitan Administration. Due to financial difficulty, her father let her grandmother look after Anna and she was raised alongside female monks in a Thai Buddhist temple. Since a young age, Anna has been working to help her family while pursuing her education where she manages to graduate with Bachelor’s degree in Hotel and Tourism Management with first-class honors at Kasetsart University. In 2020, she joined the Miss Thailand beauty pageant where she placed the semi-finalist, she went through rigorous training with RL Angels Filipino trainers for over two years to prepare for Miss Universe Thailand. In 2022, she returned and competed in the national pageant, she became the eventual winner; adorned in a dazzling red evening gown. Her advocacy is about, recycling in the capital city, home to over eight million residents. She wants to utilize her knowledge gained since a young age to contribute to a convert Bangkok Metropolitan into a green city.

Miss Indonesia Laksmi Suardana – 16 September 2022

Coming from the tourist island of Bali, Laksmi is half Balinese and Australian. Her project is regarding promoting the Indonesian tourism industry and highlighting a sustainable lifestyle in Bali and helping provide jobs to local people living on the beautiful and cultural island. She grew up in a very academic family as her Australian mother is a renowned writer and started the Ubud Writers and Readers Festival, one of the biggest writers’ festivals in the whole of Southeast Asia. It has inspired Lakshmi to be an intellectual as she has a keen interest in education, she has a deep love with the English language as she currently has been volunteering to teach children English as a vocational teacher for the Hope for Bali Foundation. Her education background is Bachelor’s degree in Fashion Business and her future goal is to start her own business where she will use local materials to help boost the local economy of Bali island.
