Miss World 2022 Delegates from Asia Pacific

Miss World is a humanitarian pageant that has made a difference in the lives of thousands of people worldwide through the incredible charity work provided by Beauty with a Purpose. We will discuss the delegates from Asia and the Pacific region. They will be competing for the title of Miss World 2022 aiming to wear the iconic blue crown.

Miss World Australia Kristen Wright

Age: 23 Hometown: Melbourne

She is a biomedical science student from Victoria, Australia. Kristen is a qualified scuba diving instructor with more than 36 certifications in the field who enjoys diving underwater to see the breathtaking beauty of the aquamarine world. She is also one of the youngest skilled scuba instructors in Victoria. She was a former national gymnast, she is capable of showcasing her acrobatic skills during a talent competition at the international pageant.

Miss World Cambodia Sary Sovattey

Age: 24 Hometown: Kratie

She graduated from the Royal University of Phnom Penh. She works as a professional actress, model, and freelance interpreter to help people communicate from Khmer to the English language. She believes in, “living for the bigger purpose than myself.” Through various charity programs and activities. She will be the flag bearer of Cambodia at the prestigious Miss World beauty pageant.

Miss World India Sini Sadanand Shetty

Age: 21 Hometown: Karnataka 

She has a Bachelor’s degree in accounting and finance and is now pursuing the CFA designation as a professional course. She started dancing at four years old and completed Bharatanatyam when she was fourteen. She was able to turn her interest into a full-fledged profession by releasing a few dancing videos online. She has a strong ambition to succeed and become self-sufficient. She wants to be a role model and help underprivileged people while maintaining her traditions. She is a dedicated and hard-working individual who wants to make a difference in society. Miss India is a strong contender for Miss World because of her impressive background and her heart for charity. 

Miss World Indonesia Audrey Vanessa Susilo

Age: 22 Hometown: Manado

Audrey is a recipient of a full scholarship from Monash University ‘ the Monash International Leadership Scholarship’ and graduated in Accounting and Finance in 2020. Audrey is currently continuing her education at the Masters’s level at the same campus majoring in Banking and Finance. She is an active role in her community and she has a very high concern for poverty and education problems in her country. She believes that education is a powerful tool to fight poverty. She represented North Sulawesi Province in Miss Indonesia. Indonesia has a long placement streak of placing at Miss World, the highest rank was 2nd Runner Up during Miss World 2015 and 2016. There is a huge chance for Vanessa to continue to place in Miss World because of her intellectual abilities which can be translated into a great communicator during the international pageant.

Miss World Lebanon Yasmina Zaytoun

Age: 20 Hometown: Kfarchouba

She has currently studying Bachelor’s degree in Journalism from Notre Dame University-Louaize, Lebanon. She has begun working on a television education show called With Yasmina Show. She has been featured in Al Jazeera Media Institute in Doha, Qatar. Lebanon has sent many beautiful ladies to Miss World before and Yasmina hopes to win the first-ever crown of Miss World for her country.

 

Miss World Malaysia Wenanita Angang

Age: 26 Hometown: Kuala Penyu

She graduated with a bachelor’s in Information Science systems. Her advocacy is about hippotherapy, which is a form of horse-riding therapy, to rehabilitate autistic children and persons with cerebral palsy. In the Beauty with Purpose challenge round, Angang proposed to set up a hippotherapy center at the Bukit Padang Hospital in Kota Kinabalu. She said she was captivated to learn how horse riding helps these children to improve their balance after listening to a briefing by doctors at the Hospital Mesra Bukit Padang. She works as an International Conference producer for many important events in Malaysia.

Miss World Nepal Priyanka Rani Joshi

Age: 24 Hometown: Kathmandu

She graduated with BA in Hospitality and Recreation Marketing Operations. She was 1st runner up in En Vogue 2016 – House of Fashion and later did an internship at M&S VMAG. Since then, she has worked as the Marketing Officer at Anita Jewels. 

 

Miss World Philippines Gwendolyne Fourniol

Age: 22 Hometown: Himamaylan

She is Filipino Frech beauty from Negros Occidental, Philippines. She has a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the Philippine Women’s University and she pursued a bachelor’s diploma in economics at Oxford Brooks in London, England. Her mother grew up in poverty as a former beneficiary of the Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation, which sends underprivileged children to school. Her mother has shown her the value of education which helps people to overcome poverty. Miss World Philippines have been actively sustaining its Beauty with Purpose projects like Educational Research and Development Assistance (ERDA) Foundation to educate more young people. This foundation supported the education of her mother and siblings. Gwendolyne explains, “If it were not for ERDA, I wouldn’t exist and my mother would still be living in poverty in Negros.” ERDA was founded in 1974 with the intention “that all children and youth have access to quality education and holistic development, in a supportive environment so they can lead a better life.”

She is an artist and entrepreneur.

Miss World Vietnam Huỳnh Nguyễn Mai Phương

Age: 23 Homtown: Đồng Nai

Huỳnh had an excellent educational background as she placed second in the English language at the provincial level in 2016, and the third prize in English at the provincial level in 2017. In the 11th grade, Mai Phuong achieved an IELTS score of 6.5 which many people admired. In addition to studying, Mai Phuong is also a very energetic and confident person. She can sing, dance, play the piano and perform catwalks. While being a student at Dong Nai University, Mai Phuong successfully won the title of Miss University in 2018. Currently, she is working in parallel with many jobs. Including bilingual MC and photo model. She is also a collaborator in Vietnam Television. She was also crowned Miss Đồng Nai University 2018 and placed Top 5 finalists at Miss Vietnam 2020 with the Beauty with a Purpose award. She has worked as an English tutor since the beginning of high school and she worked part-time to understand the importance of improving her knowledge, especially her fluency in English.
