After Miss USA 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel of Texas won the 71st Miss Universe crown in January 14, 2023 in New Orleans, United States. Her 1st Runner Up Morgan Romano of North Carolina has been crowned as the new Miss USA 2022 due to the rules of Miss USA pageant when the national winner wins Miss Universe title, her first runner up will take her place. Morgan Romano, Miss North Carolina USA 2022, is a resident of Concord, North Carolina.
She has a passion for STEM education for children and spends her free time volunteering with Project Scientist, an after-school program that provides a high quality STEM curriculum to young girls. Morgan is an alumna of the University of South Carolina where she obtained a Bachelors of Science in Chemical Engineering in 2020. She is currently an Application Engineer at R.E. Mason in Charlotte, North Carolina. During her year, Morgan plans on expanding her initiative โOutside the Boxโ, which provides science kits to classrooms, childrenโs hospitals, libraries, and to students in need. It also focuses on spreading the message that it is okay to fully embrace who you are, no matter what that may be. Morgan hopes to set that example by wearing the Miss North Carolina USA crown and being a woman in STEM.
