Get to know Femina Miss India 2023 Top 30 Finalists

Femina Miss India is the most prestigious and oldest-running Indian beauty pageant founded in 1952. Femina Miss India has managed to achieve six Miss World winners in 1966, 1994, 1997, 1999, 2000, and 2017, three Miss Universe winners in 1994, 2000, and 2021 with many other minor pageant winners. Femina Miss India 2023 will be the 59th edition of the Femina Miss India beauty pageant. After a two-year hiatus, the selection process for the competition was done through the audition to the final will be held physically in person. The grand finale will be held in April 2023 at Imphal, Manipur, each contestant from 29 states (including Delhi) and a collective representative for all Union Territories (including Jammu and Kashmir), adding up to 30 participants will compete for the title. At the end of the event, Miss World India 2022 Sini Sadanand Shetty of Karnataka will crown her successor who will represent India at Miss World 2024. Rubal Shekhawat of Rajasthan and Shinata Chauhan of Uttar Pradesh will crown their successors as the 1st and 2nd runners-up respectively.

East Zone

Bihar – Tanu Shree Age: 24

A model by profession, Tanu Shree holds a Bachelor of an honors degree in Fashion Design. She owns her own swimwear brand ‘Riona’ and has worked with some reputed brands across India. She also raised Indian rupees 2,71,895 at Ketto for the education of underprivileged children and is part of the Rural Immersion Programme to promote the education of a girl child.

Chhattisgarh – Aditi Sharma Age: 24

An actor and model by profession, this Law graduate has been featured in various commercials, music videos, multiple campaigns, and catalog shoots for renowned designers across the country.

Jharkhand – Kushmandvi Sharma Age: 18

This Dr. Anandibai Scholarship awardee cleared the National Medical Entrance Exam (NEET) in her first attempt where the acceptance rate is 1% and currently is in her first year of becoming a doctor! Now she is all set to compete at the Femina Miss India 2023 hoping to win the crown!

Odisha – Janvi Soni Hailing Age: 22

from Odisha and boring in Chhattisgarh, Janvi is a 22-year-old who has a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce. She believes in self-improvement and aims to further progress closer to realizing her ambition and the Femina Miss India 2023 crown.

West Bengal – Shaswati Bala

With a Bachelor’s degree in design and a model by profession, Shaswati has worked with renowned designers in the industry and is now coming for the coveted crown of Femina Miss India 2023!

North East Zone

Arunachal Pradesh – Tana Puniya Age: 24

Hailing from the dawn-lit mountains of Arunachal Pradesh, Tana Puniya, from a very young age, has been into arts and creativity. Her creative outlet is through her singing; she also occasionally performs at live gigs. Being brought up by two strong role models in the form of her parents, she has always been a go-getter and is comfortable stepping out of her comfort zone. Her journey began in 2021 when she moved to Delhi to train and attend workshops to compete in pageantry. She aspires to become a successful model and a pageant trainer in the near future. She considers herself an unstoppable woman because she faced many rejections in her life but has only strengthened.

Assam – Anushka Lekharu Age: 23

With a Master’s degree in English Literature, Anushka always found her true passion in pageantry by winning multiple titles to her name. Born in the hub of Gateway to Northeast India, Guwahati, and representing the beautiful state of Assam, Anushka Lekharu has spent an eternity living, learning and growing with the city. Belonging to the ethnic groups, she always nurtured the cultural heritage of Assam. Her intuitive personality helps her grasp situations from the bright side, which lets her transform negativity into positivity with a confident and innocent heart. Having experienced the stigma of sexual harassment and violence, she tries to become a voice for the unheard and break shackles like birds flying in the sky. She is here to create a legacy and be the beacon of hope to the countless dreamers in this world.

Manipur – Thounaojam Strela Luwang Age: 21

Thounaojam Strela Luwang was born into the Thounaojam family; they named her Strela of the ‘Luwang’ Clan of Manipur. A 21-year-old, who conjures the passion for following her dreams, she took up International Business studies and works day and night, for the future she cherishes, with zeal and compassion. Diagnosed with epilepsy at a very young age due to stress and anxiety induced by bullying, she feels that mental health is as important if not more than physical health. Thus, being an avid messenger of mental health issues is what she does whenever life permits. It is her ultimate goal to encourage a ‘Child-friendly’ education system.

Meghalaya – Irene Dkhar Age: 20

An admirer of the world of theatre and drama, Irene is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s Degree with English as her major. She is passionate about cooking, and baking and she owes her spirit of sportsmanship to basketball.

Mizoram – C. Lalhmangaihzuali Age: 22

Raised by a single mother, C. Lalhmangaihzuali started her career as a model, supporting herself and her family at a young age. Today, she is one of the top models as well as the top leading actor and influencer in Mizoram.

Nagaland – Ezhotou Keyho Age: 22

Ezhotou is currently pursuing her degree in Political Science and has several feathers to her hat when it comes to the beauty pageant arena in the State. Born and raised in a small town in the Phek district of Nagaland State called Pfutsero, Ezhotou Keyho is a cheerful, optimistic, and determined woman who has a lot of fascinating memories tied with meaningful experiences growing up in a small town surrounded by the majestic mount Glory peak offer and mesmerizing view and cool breeze air. She has several feathers to her crown when it comes to the beauty pageant arena in the State. Ardent and enthusiastic about modelling, singing, and playing volleyball, Ezhotou puts her interest in them as well. She consciously believes that her calling is to serve humanity and is drawn toward society’s well-being and development.

Sikkim – Zaanvii Sharma Age: 20

Zaanvii graduated with a Bachelor of Social Work and is currently a student. A National swimmer and a zonal basketball player, she now wishes to take a step into the glamour world by stepping onto the Femina Miss India 2023 platform!

Tripura – Nabanita Bhattacharjee Age: 21

Currently pursuing B-Tech in Computer Science and Engineering, Nabanita loves listening to music, dancing, practicing yoga, and traveling. She takes it upon herself to pay attention to details that are typically missed, which enables her to fully experience the situation. North Zone

Haryana – Mehermeet Kaur Age: 23

With a BE degree in Computer Engineering, this 23-year-old is also a Software Engineer and a professional model. She has walked the ramp for some of the top fashion designers in India. A familiar face at many fashion weeks, she is now ready to take on the Femina Miss India 2023 stage!

Himachal Pradesh – Nikeet Dhillon Age: 23

Nikeet is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s in Tourism Studies alongside pursuing acting. She has played the main lead in 3 Punjabi films and a web series and was also listed in Chandigarh’s 15 Most Desirable Women by Chandigarh Times.Representing Himachal Pradesh, Nikeet Dhillon is a 23-year-old, fun-loving Punjabi girl. She faced real-life challenges following her father’s untimely demise. She had to give up on her dream of pursuing higher education abroad and took responsibility as the family’s sole bread earner. With her participation in Miss India, she hopes to be a guide and tool to educate underprivileged children.

Madhya Pradesh – Pratika Saxena

Pratika is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts while also working as a professional portrait sketcher and painter. She has worked as a stage design artist in more than 15 shows and has designed sets of web series trailers as well. She has been associated with an NGO named Arushi that works in providing employment for disabled children and those in need.

Punjab – Shyna Choudhary Age: 23

Shyna is a professional model and actor who has been featured in TV commercials for multiple brands in India. She also has print shoots, campaign shoots, and ramp shows for various designers across India to her name.

Uttar Pradesh 2023, Tanya Sharma Age: 21

Currently, a student at Delhi University pursuing her BA in English and Psychology, Tanya is also working as a professional model and actor having begun her career at the age of 10. A passionate theatre artist for seven years, she is now ready to set the Femina Miss India 2023 stage on fire.

South Zone

Andhra Pradesh – Gomathy Reddy Age: 21

Gomathy Reddy, a proud native of Tirupathi – the land of seven hills, cherishes her roots dearly. At 21, she has already established herself as a skilled software developer and works as a model. Her diverse interests include dancing, sketching, reading books, hitting the gym, and exploring her newfound passion for acting. Despite facing life’s challenges, Gomathy always maintains a positive outlook and draws strength from her parents, who have been her unwavering support system. She firmly believes that women can shatter the shackles of patriarchy by recognising their inherent strength, and she is determined to break stereotypes and serve as an inspiration to others. Growing up in a family of farmers, she imbibed the importance of a good meal from a young age. Her grandmother’s wise words, “how full you are should be measured by the number of empty bellies you’ve served,” has stayed with her throughout her life. Gomathy’s association with various non-governmental organisations has helped her remain grounded in her values and principles. Her indomitable spirit and determination to chase her dreams is a trait she shares with her brother. He inspired her to drive beyond her limits and brought the best out of her. As a result, she sees each day as an opportunity to make the most of it and lives life to the fullest. This spirit has driven her to compete for the Femina Miss India 2023 title.

Karnataka – Megan Edward Age: 23

A gold medalist in the discus shot put, long jump, and relay, Megan has worked at the F1 Grand Prix and FIFA World Cup in Abu Dhabi in customer relations. She is currently pursuing her Bachelor’s degree at Amity University Online in Sociology which she has financed herself! Born in the heart of Bangalore, Megan Katrina Edward, fondly known as Meg, spent the last few years living and discovering herself within the city she loved to visit growing up. When she was three months old, Megan and her family relocated to the Middle East, and all through her childhood, she would visit Bangalore during every summer vacation. She has a passion for social science that studies human societies, their various interactions, and the processes that preserve and change them! Her interests range from travelling, hiking, gardening, and music to dancing, swimming and reading lots of books. She considers herself a bookworm who loves the outdoors. During her high school years, she was the sports captain for her school, and most days, you would find her on the basketball court shooting hoops under the sun! Her various leadership roles and significant travel around the world exposed her to people from all walks of life. She believes that life is a celebration of differences and that we are all interconnected. She wishes to use her prior experiences as tools to better the world around her and aspires to embark on a symbolic journey of how we can find the extraordinary in the ordinary.

Kerala – Christeena Biju Age: 25

Born in God’s own country, Kerala, Christeena Biju gets her sense of belonging from this beautiful state where she grew up with her grandparents. No matter where she travels, this place keeps calling her back because this is where her heart lies. She is currently pursuing her graduation in BA from Delhi University and is an established model and actor. Apart from her passion for modelling, she also enjoys swimming, horse riding and painting. She also engages herself in various plantation activities, which presents her the quality to be a calm and affable person. Travelling is her therapy as it helps her to have an adventurous heart. Being an army brat, she was imbibed with patriotism like her father and wishes to be called India one day with her strong vision. She believes in celebrating even the smallest of victories in life as it encourages her to strive hard to achieve whatever she wants in life. Her parents named her Christeena, which means the flower of the Christ, so here she is, ready to blossom as one of her most cherished dreams.

Tamil Nadu – Karunya Mohanasundaram Age: 25

A doctor in the making, Karunya is currently interning at the Mahatma Gandhi Medical College. She has won numerous medals in track and field events and is an ace basketball player. Karunya Mohanasundaram is a multifaceted individual with an impressive set of skills and passions, and her profession as a medical doctor is just one of her identities. Her many other talents include being a trained classical and western dancer and an athlete with a particular affinity for athletics and basketball. However, her success is not solely due to her physical attributes. She has always emphasised education and personal development; her daily routine involves reading books and continually expanding her knowledge base, which led to an impressive 95% improvement in her CBSE grades, culminating in acceptance into medical school. As an only daughter, she has always received much attention and care from her family, and her parents have always allowed her to follow her passions by providing unwavering support through the good and bad times. Now, she seeks to inspire others to pursue their aspirations.

Telangana – Urmila Chauhan Age: 25

Born and bought up in the beautiful south city of Hyderabad, Urmila Chauhan has always been an enthusiast. She is a seeker of all that she believes in, from conquering the skies to visualising winning the prestigious national pageant of Miss India. The need to live a story worthwhile has been her passion. Being a young, independent and talented woman, she’s been a frequent flyer since she turned 18, exploring and learning about the world, and spends days flying through the skies as a flight attendant. A nurturer by heart, she finds solace in fulfilling the responsibilities of her job. Her interests include gardening, painting, horse riding, watching tv, travelling, and crafting.

West & Union Territory

Goa – Victoria Fernandes Age: 22

Victoria Fernandes was born and brought up in the city of dreams, Mumbai, and the city of beaches, Goa, has her heart. She has a Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Media and works as an Account Executive at an Advertising Firm. Victoria comes from a humble background, which instilled in her the virtue of being kind and giving. She spends a day every week in community service to give back to society in small ways. As an elder daughter, growing up, she was backed with responsibilities and challenges to set an example and to make her family proud.

Gujarat – Simran Saini Age: 25

Meet a vivacious Punjabi girl, Simran Ajitsingh Saini. She embodies the spirit of her hometown – Ahmedabad, a city renowned for its safety and empowerment. The 25-year-old is a fiercely independent professional model and actor, determined to inspire and serve as a role model to countless others. Despite dropping out of her Integrated Professional Competency Course in Chartered Accountancy, the commerce graduate persevered to become the pillar of support for her family, blossoming into a woman of unwavering courage and strength. She firmly believes in giving a voice to the voiceless, especially to animals who cannot speak for themselves. And with a heart full of compassion, she contributes in her small way towards feeding the strays. Her dedication to education as a tool for bettering humanity is evident through her involvement in non-profit organizations that provide education to those in need. She is a force to be reckoned with, a beacon of hope for all those who aspire to follow their dreams and create change.

Maharashtra – Apurva Chavan Age: 24

Holding a degree in B-Tech in Information Technology, Maharashtra 2023, Apurva is a model and HR professional and is a recipient of a national scholarship from the Central government of India in Kuchipudi dance. We would sure like to see her moves at Femina Miss India 2023! Born and brought up in the heart of Pune, Apurva Chavan is adventurous. And having an introverted personality growing up, she found comfort in expressing herself through various art forms. Pursuing a career as a Senior Talent Acquisition Specialist for a US-based firm. Reaching out and helping others find their means to a livelihood motivates her to keep growing and excelling in her field. Apurva believes that knowledge can be found everywhere and constantly learns from her peers and mentors. She’s always searching for inspiration, perspective, and vision and keeping sight of her dream of becoming an entrepreneur.

Rajasthan – Nandini Gupta Age: 18

Nandini Gupta is an 18-year-old from Kota. As a child, she excelled in organizing and hosting various extracurricular activities and events. This experience inspired her to pursue a degree in Business Management at college. Nandini believes that rejections throughout a person’s life play a crucial role in defining who they are as an individual. Therefore, she is determined to face all the challenges, failures, and rejections that may come her way as she embarks on the journey of a lifetime. She recognizes that challenges will inevitably arise but is prepared to confront them head-on by embracing failures and setbacks as learning opportunities. She is committed to overcoming obstacles and emerging victorious.

Union Territory – Navya Kalra Age: 24

Navya Naveen Kalra is a 24-year-old doctor. She hails from the beauty of India, Chandigarh. Growing up in this remarkable city has amalgamated the virtues of simplicity and modernity into her. She is currently pursuing her internship for the degree of Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery from a premier government medical institute in our country. She aims to be an ophthalmologist so that everyone can visualise and appreciate the beauty of our beautiful world. Her vision is a happy and healthy future for the country’s children with access to food, healthcare and education, and she works with an NGO for their holistic growth. Her dream is to represent the tricolour internationally and to empower women globally.
