Miss Universe Vietnam License Signing Ceremony with new National Director

Today was the official License Signing Ceremony of the new Miss Universe Vietnam organization at the Reverie Saigon in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It is under the Trading Joint Stock Company based in Hanoi, Vietnam. Headed by Miss Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga alongside Miss World Vietnam 2015 Tran Ngoc Lan Khue as the Southern regional director. In the ceremony, Lan Khue said: “We know that in the past few days, the information about changing the owner of Miss Universe Vietnam has caused a lot of noise. Today, after completing the signing with Ms. Anne, we would like to announce the current copyright holder.” Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip announces the new national director of Miss Universe Vietnam after the success of the license signing ceremony. The new National Director is former Miss Charm Vietnam 2020 and host of the Miss Charm 2022 beauty pageant – Miss Nguyen Quynh Nga. There will be a national pageant to select this year’s Vietnamese delegate for the 72nd edition Miss Universe 2022 pageant in El Salvador.

Background about the National Director: Nguyen Thi Thuy Nga is the CEO of Elite Entertainment in Vietnam which is one of 168 companies in the world that buys the copyright of the brand to manage and train an international model Elite – the No. 1 model management company in the world. For 20 years, Elite has negotiated and purchased more or less 30 copyrights for Miss and other international models, and at the same time has organized many beauty contests, models, and events. Elite Vietnam led by Ms. Thuy Nga and her colleagues is proud to be the pioneer of many trends in Vietnam through many events, notably in 2007, Elite brought the Miss Earth contest to Vietnam. This is the prelude to other international competitions held in Vietnam such as Miss Universe 2008, and Miss World 2010. Then, in 2014, in collaboration with BHD and VTV, Elite organized the contest “Miss Ao Dai Vietnam” – the first beauty pageant in Vietnam in a reality TV format. This program has started the trend of organizing reality television-style beauty contests in Vietnam and is also the first competition in Vietnam to follow international standards. The top 3 of this contest will be competing in 3 world competitions: Miss World, Miss International, and Miss Supranational. In 2018, Elite opened the first Miss Training Center in Vietnam and cooperated with many international experts. Currently, Elite has many projects in the construction and negotiation stages with international partners.

The event was attended by the reigning Miss Universe 2022 winner R’Bonney Gabriel, 2nd Runner-Up Andreína Martínez of the Dominican Republic with the owner of the Miss Universe organization, Anne Jakkaphong Jakrajutatip. Due to the new ownership of the international pageant, Miss Anne has requested all the national directors to be inclusive and welcoming of different types of women, including transgender, married women, and single mothers to compete in the local pageant to follow the rules and regulations. If they fail to adapt to the requirements set by the Miss Universe organization then the national pageant will be losing its license to another company similar to Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam, the previous Miss Universe Vietnam.
