Herlene Budol is a famous Filipina Celebrity, vlogger, comedienne, TV host, and influencer who is known by her nickname “Hipon Girl” (‘”Shrimp Girl”‘), She was a co-host of the Philippine variety game show Wowowin. Herlene gained popularity when she joined the Wowowin segment “Willie of Fortune”. Willie Revillame decided to make her a regular co-host of his show because of her talent and funny jokes. In 2022, she joined the national pageant of Binibining Pilipinas 2022 where she was one of the front runner and fan favorites for the crown as she won many subtitles and finished 1st Runner-Up in the final event. During the national pageant, she had been vocal about aiming for the Miss Grand Philippines title. She made a good impression on Mr. Nawat Itsaragrisil, the chairman of the Miss Grand International pageant when he attended the pre-judging in Manila, Philippines. In late 2022, she was appointed as the Philippines’ representative for Miss Planet International 2022 but withdrew due to the inconsistency of the international pageant organizers in Uganda.
She confirmed her participation at the first edition of Miss Grand Philippines through her latest interview in Fast Talk with Boy Abunda! Here is the transcription from the interview regarding her confirmation.

“Kung ako ang tatanungin, Tito Boy, gusto ko yung gusto ng manager ko naman, so sasali po ako.
“Nung Binibini po, totally hindi ko po talaga gustong sumali. Siya lang po yung nag-motivate sa akin. Nakita niya po yung potensiyal ko daw po,” sabi ni Herlene.
“Tinupad niya yung mga pangarap ko—magkaroon ng bahay, sasakyan, mapagamot yung lolo ko, pati yung burol ng lola ko, sinagot niya.
“So, yung kaligayahan naman po ni Sir Wilbert ang gagawin ko, which is kaligayahan ko din po ngayon, ‘yung mapasaya ko naman siya.”
Mr. Arnold Vegafria is the new franchise holder of Miss Grand International in the Philippines, ALV Pageant Circle, who took over the franchise from Binibining Pilipinas Charities, Inc. in late 2022. He is also the National Director of the Miss World Philippines beauty pageant. During a press conference, he announced that the national pageant will have extravagant production and it will include representatives from different Provinces of the Philippines. The outgoing and cheerful Herlene is one of the fan favorites to win the coveted crown of Miss Grand Philippines hoping to be the first Filipina woman to clinch the golden crown of Miss Grand International 2023 will be held on October 25, 2023, at Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.
