Chiang Mai, Thailand – Miss Grand Thailand 2023 is a national pageant responsible to select the Thai representative for the 11th Miss Grand International 2023 in Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam. Miss Grand Thailand 2022 Engfa Waraha who placed 1st Runner-Up at the international pageant will crown her successor by the end of the event. On 18 April 2023, it was a special event called Miss Grand Thailand 2023 Host City’s Favorite. This event was held in Chiang Mai located in Northern Thailand where the fans and the judges panel selected the Host City’s favorite delegate. The event started with all the Top seventy-seven delegates wearing beautiful and elegant Lan Na-style Thai dresses inspired by the rich culture of this year’s host Province of Chiang Mai. The talented and outgoing beauty Miss Grand Thailand 2022 Engfa Waraha performed in an outstanding Thai dance wearing a gorgeous golden bodice and La Na style outfit. The reigning Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin of Brazil made a spectacular entrance dressed as the Northern Thai Queen. The audience was amazed by the grand production of this special event showcasing the colorful and vibrant culture of Chiang Mai and Northern Thailand. After the traditional round, all the delegates performed in their beautiful evening gowns then the judges and public selected the Top 18 semi-finalists.

Miss Grand Lamphun Cheraim Chayathanus Saradatta crowned Miss Grand Thailand 2023 Host City Choice. Cheraim Chayathanus Saradatta is Thai woman of Hainanese descent. She graduated from Srinakharinwirot University, Prasarnmit Demonstration School (Secondary), and graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the Faculty of Humanities Ramkhamhaeng University. Cheraim has modeled for many international high-end brands both in Thailand and abroad, such as ASAVA, Giorgio Armani (Milan Fashion Week), Elle Fashion Week, etc., with experience in many countries such as Italy, France, Hong Kong, and Singapore. She has also acted as the lead character in Cloud Cuckoo Country and made a cameo role in Girl from Nowhere. In 2020, she made her debut in the pageantry world as she made a strong impression during the audition round of the Miss Universe Thailand, where her intelligence, strong communication skills, and ability to handle any tough questions made her a front-runner in the competition. After three years, Cheraim made her comeback at the beauty pageant when she won the Miss Grand Lamphun Province pageant. At the moment, she is one of the strongest delegates to win the Miss Grand Thailand 2023 beauty pageant. During the Miss Grand Thailand 2023 Host City’s Choice competition, she aced both the Top 7 and Top 3 Question and Answer rounds. Cheraim has proven to be a strong contender for the Miss Grand Thailand crown as she was able to showcase her strength of incredible speaking skills with a wide range of vocabulary with factual and relevant points regarding the current political condition of Thailand. The Thai National election will be held right after the national beauty pageant, hence the questions asked were regarding the political situation of Thailand.

But we can reduce it, and most importantly, we can solve it by supporting the government to disclose various budgets. If we elected local governments, we will be able to know the source of the money. In every baht, every satang that has been spent as it is important to have transparency. With the help of various independent organizations that take care of corruption, there must be independent control of the government. Because we are the master of the government. The government is not the master of the people. Thank you.” Her incredible knowledge of Thai politics and conveying sustainable solutions made her win the Host City’s Favorite title. Miss Grand Lamphun Cheraim Chayathanus Saradatta was crowned in the new golden crown by Miss Grand International 2022 Isabella Menin from Brazil and Engfa Waraha Miss Grand Thailand 2022. Meanwhile, Miss Grand Songkhla Kanruthai Thasbut finished 1st Runner-Up and Miss Grand Bangkok Pimjira Charoenluk placed 2nd Runner-Up. The Top 7 Finalists included Miss Grand Loei Ajcharee Srisuk, Miss Grand Phrae Ketwalee Phlobdee, Miss Grand Saraburi Vanessa Natcha Wenk, and Miss Grand Phuket Tia Li Taveepanichpan respectively.
