Dubai, UAE – The Miss Universe Pakistan have announced some new and exciting news regarding their first edition of the beauty pageant. According to the National Director Mr. Josh Yugen, he wants to present the beauty pageant as a reality-show-style competition which will be divided into many episodes and will be broadcast for the international audience to watch. The production for the upcoming Miss Universe Pakistan will start in June 2023 and the first episode will be broadcast online starting August 2023. The reality show will wide variety of fun activities where the candidates will take part in different tasks and challenges to embrace their unique personalities and communication skills, interview, runway walk, and humanitarian work. The winner of the 1st edition Miss Universe Pakistan will be the first Pakistani representative in the 72nd edition Miss Universe 2023 scheduled in El Salvador later this year. The reigning Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Gabriel from the United States of America will crown her successor by the end of the event.
Applications for Miss Universe Pakistan opened on March 4 to all Pakistani women aged 18 to 28. A historic rule change at Miss Universe has also come into effect that no longer limits the contest to single women. For the first time in its 71-year history, applicants can be single, married, divorced, or mothers. There is also no height requirement. “We want to localize our approach without changing the dynamics of the Miss Universe brand,” said Josh Yugen, national director of Miss Universe Pakistan and the founder of Yugen Group. “We are still going to show women from Pakistan who are beautifully confident and who are the epitome of stories of dreams turning into realities. “One of the main reasons why I accepted this challenge is to bridge the gap between pageantry and private sectors and brands. I want them to realize that pageantry is more than just about the pretty face and modeling; it is all about standing for a cause, using the global Miss Universe platform to do CSR initiatives, and being an icon of hope to the community that they are representing.”
