Yllana Marie Aduana is a 24-year-old model and actress by profession who hails from Siniloan, Laguna. Standing at the height of 5 feet 7 inches tall. She had studied in Manila but spent most of her weekends and summers in her province. She grew up adapting to both Rural and Urban environment and their cultures. Growing up, she had the best summertime soaking in the sun and playing in our rice fields and paddies in Siniloan, Laguna called ‘Sinarol’. Also, in her yard, they had 2 very tall coconut trees and 4 palm trees. And fun fact, there’s this 1 coconut tree that I named “Coco” and the story behind that is; there was this one time that she was left alone in the house and she was crying and no one was there to listen to me but when she stared out the window and saw that tree, I felt like Coco was the instrument of God & nature to have someone listen to me at that moment. Even as a child, she really had a deep connection with nature and that is also why she decided to practice the Zero Waste and a Sustainable Lifestyle as her simple way to prevent the ecological collapse from happening.

Her advocacy is called E.A.R.T.H. Education. Where E.A.R.T.H. stands for Environmental Awareness&Action to Restore and Transcend Home through Education. As an ardent advocate of education and the environment, she is firm in the fact that education is the solution to any problem there is on this planet. Through her non-profit organization called Edukasyon for Every Juan, I will use it as my medium to help in the fight against climate change by organizing seminars and colloquiums and educating people on climate reality. One specific approach to do that is through the framework I like to call, the POSITIVE BELEAF framework where P.O.S.I.T.I.V.E. stands for all the positive things we can do to be eco-friendlier and when performed, it will result in B.E.L.E.A.F. which stands for a set of positive outcome towards a greener planet.

During the Top 10 Hashtag round Miss Laguna was asked to talk about the topic #Safety

Siniloan, Laguna – Yllana Marie Aduana said: Safety plays a very salient role in our lives. We have to always be secure, not only safe but also in terms of water security, and food security because as Miss Philippines Earth, I know that I am a hardworking person and I can always incorporate this in order for us to achieve safety at all costs. Protect mother earth, the way she protects us all with all safety. Thank you.

She impressed the judges with her outstanding and intelligent final answer when she was asked:

Question: What do you think people in the future would say about your generation?

Yllana Marie Aduana replied: Our generation, although misconstrued as very ardent, I would have to say that we use our voices for a reason. And that is to always speak up for the things that we know are right and for the things we know, we deserve. That is why we are very ardent about it. That is why I am also conducting co-comes in the 17 sustainable development goals and their interconnectedness to nature in hopes to precipitate people’s eco-consciousness because our future is the linebackers and the pioneers of environmental amelioration and we should always take advantage of it at all costs. Thank you.

In addition to winning the main title of Miss Philippines Earth 2023, Yllana was also awarded Darling of the Press, Miss HANA Shampoo, and Best in Swimsuit special awards which made her the frontrunner in this year’s competition. She is aiming to become the fifth Filipina woman to win the coveted Miss Earth crown after Karla Henry (2008), Jamie Herrell (2014), Angelia Ong (2015), and Karen Ibasco (2017).
