Who are the Miss Universe 2023 official delegates?

The 72nd Edition Miss Universe 2023 contest will be held in El Salvador located in Central America, later this year. The reigning Miss Universe 2022 R’Bonney Nola Gabriel of the United States of America will crown her successor at the end of the event. As of 31 May 2023, we have nine official delegates who are confirmed to compete at the international pageant. Let’s take a look at these beautiful, intelligent, and outstanding ladies who are aiming to wear the new Force for Good Mouawad Miss Universe crown.

Miss Universe Angola Bárbara Da Silva Coimbra
Age: 23 Hometown: Benguela
The 23-year-old model and project manager who holds a bachelor’s degree in economics will now be preparing to represent Angola at the 72nd Miss Universe (Miss Universe 2023) in El Salvador. As she grew up in the UK, Barbara is fluent in English and Portuguese languages. I could not find more information regarding her advocacy online as she was recently crowned as the national winner but looking at her social media. I think she is the potential to bring back a placement for Angola after 2011.

Miss Universe Argentina Yamile Dajud

Age: 27 Hometown: Rio Negro

Yamile graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Javeriana in Bogota with a bachelor’s degree in communication. The 27-year-old stunning beauty bested 21 other delegates to win the crown. Yamile Dajud is a veteran in the world of pageantry and had lived and studied in Colombia. In 2021, she competed at the Señorita Colombia pageant where she finished as 3rd runner-up. Argentina has one Miss Universe titleholder. She is Norma Nolan who won way back in 1962. The last placement for the country was in 2020 when Alina Luz Akselrad made it to the Top 21.

Miss Universe Bahamas 2023 Melissa Ingraham
Age: 27 Hometown: Long Island

Days after being named MBU, Ingraham who stands five feet two inches, has already turned her focus to working towards building her campaign with the pageant committee and focusing on her health and fitness in preparation for the global pageant scheduled for later this year in El Salvador, even as she continues to settle into her role. She was also the national project coordinator of a GEF (Global Environment Fund), UNEP (United Nations Environment Programme) implemented project called Implementing Land, Water and Ecosystems Management in The Bahamas (IWEco) which was based in East End, Grand Bahama, that focused on developing a watershed management plan inclusive of a biodiversity inventory of the area and the development of a sustainable tourism certification as well as sought to restore four creek systems in East End to reduce floods in nearby communities.

Miss Universe Belgium Emilie Vansteenkiste

Age: 21 Height: 170cm 5’7″ Hometown: Elewijt

Miss Belgium Emilie Vansteenkiste is 21 and hails from Elewijt in Flemish Brabant. She is a Latin dancer and occupational therapy student who speaks both Dutch and French. Emilie is currently studying at the University College Leuven-Limburg. Growing up with a single mother, she learned the importance of being financially independent from an early age. Emilie hopes to become the first Belgian woman to win the Miss Universe crown.

The 23-year-old public relations student, model, and health coach representing Comunidad Extranjera also bagged the Miss Pasarela award following the swimsuit competition. Celeste Viel, representing Comunidad Extranjera, was a fan-favorite for the crown ever since the beginning of the competition. Celeste Viel is 23 years of age and a public relations student, model, and health coach. In 2020, she obtained her health and wellness coach certification from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition. In 2021, she entered Florida International University in Miami to pursue a bachelor’s degree in communication arts.

Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023 Lisbeth Valverde

Lisbeth Valverde is 28 years of age, hails from San Ramón and is an entrepreneur by profession. The stunning beauty holds a degree in special education from the National University of Costa Rica. Lisbeth Valverde was crowned Miss Universe Costa Rica 2023 at the finale of Miss Costa Rica 2023 held on 16th August 2023 at Estudio Marco Picado in San José. Lisbeth will now represent her country at Miss Universe 2023.Her social project ‘Manos Unidas Costa Rica’ advocates for education, inclusion, and the preservation of our planet. Not new to the pageantry, Lisbeth also holds the titles of Miss Centroamerican 2015, Miss Intercontinental Costa Rica 2016, Miss Costa Maya Internacional 2019, and Miss Panamerican 2019.

Miss Universe Croatia Andrea Erjavec

Age: 23 Height: 175cm 5’9″ Hometown: Perušić

Miss Croatia Andrea Erjavec is studying classroom teaching at the Faculty of Teachers, University of Zagreb. She has worked as a basketball coach and believes in maintaining physical health. Her background in education has inspired her to start her advocacy regarding the mental and physical health of children, as she believes that this is one of the biggest problems that children face. Andrea also believes that it is important to invest in the education and empowerment of parents so that they can provide quality care and support to children in all aspects of their lives.

Miss Universe Curacao Kim Rossen

Age: 25 Height: 188cm 6’2″ Hometown: Willemstad

Miss Universe Curacao Kim Rossen She is 25 years old and she was the tallest delegate in this year’s Miss Universe Curacao pageant. As an Occupational Therapist, she wants to help underprivileged people to give them quality health care. Her tall height and athletic experience will make her stand out in the Miss Universe competition, she can use her sports background as it will help her be headstrong and understand the importance of good sportsmanship. 

Miss Universe Czech Republic Vanesa Švédová 

Age: 27 Height: 179cm 5’10.5″ Hometown: Prerov

Miss Universe Czech Republic Vanesa Švédová is 19 years of age and is currently a student and model. Being a student, Vanesa is currently focusing on her exams. She will have the whole year to prepare herself to compete at Miss Universe 2023. Throughout her reign, she would like to show people about her projects and that there is much more to beauty queens than outer appearance. The Czech Republic has never won the Miss Universe crown yet and Vanesa hopes to become the first winner for her country.

Miss Universe Ecuador 2023 Delary Stoffers

Delary Stoffers Villón represented Guayaquil at the national competition. She competed against 22 other candidates to win the crown. Hailing from Guayaquil, Guayas, Ecuador, she advocates for environmental protection and volunteers in rescuing animals. In 2020, she entered a university to pursue a bachelor’s degree in business administration.

Not new to the pageantry, Delary represented Guayaquil at Concurso Nacional de Belleza Ecuador 2020 which was held through a virtual ceremony amid COVID-19 pandemic. She competed against nine other finalists and was unplaced. Through her reign, Delary wishes to focus on her project on single mothers. She would also like to start a project of empowerment, mental and physical health so that they can be strong and resilient women who win the whole world.

Miss Universe El Salvador 2023 Isabella García-Manzo

Isabella García-Manzo is 20 years of age who represented the department of San Salvador at the national competition. In 2021, she entered Les Roches Marbella in Marbella, Andalusia, Spain to pursue a bachelor’s degree in hospitality business administration. Isabella is now preparing to welcome over 90 delegates from around the world. This will be the second time Miss Universe competition will take place in the country; the first time it hosted Miss Universe was in 1975.

Miss Universe France 2023 Diane Leyre

Age: 26 Hometown: Île-de-France

She is 26 years of age and a model and radio personality by profession who hails from Paris. Diane holds a degree in business administration from IE University in Madrid. In December 2021, she was crowned Miss France 2022 while representing Île-de-France at the national pageant. During her reign, she became a cohost on the Europe 2 daily morning show “Le Morning sans filtre” with Guillaume Genton and Fabien Delettres.

I am so happy for Diane to finally represent France at an international pageant like Miss Universe because she was supposed to compete at last year’s Miss Universe but due to some management issues, she was unable to travel to the USA. Diane has such an infectious smile that radiates the whole room where ever she walks, she gave good performance in the Miss France contest. She was outspoken, confident, and charming with a great stage presence. Diane needs to improve her runway walk as it needs a little bit of polishing before she travels to El Salvador for Miss Universe.

Miss Universe Germany 2023 Helena Bleicher

Helena Bleicher is 24 years of age. She is an aspiring teacher and an advocate for environmental conservation and animal welfare. She succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Germany 2022 Soraya Kohlmann for the crown. Helena Bleicher was crowned Miss Universe Germany 2023 at the finale of the national pageant held on Saturday, 15th July 2023 at the Holiday Inn Düsseldorf – Neuss. Helena will now represent Germany at Miss Universe 2023. Not a stranger to the pageantry, Helena previously held the title of Miss Aura Germany 2022 and represented her country at Miss Aura International 2022 where she placed in the Top 10.

Miss Universe Great Britain 2023 Jessica Page

Age: 27 Hometown: Liverpool

She is 27 years old and a businesswoman from Liverpool, England. Jessica is currently working as a creative director for a dessert brand along with working as a freelance marketing manager and owner of a social media agency Social Hype. The stunning beauty holds a marketing and events management degree from the University of Chester in Chester, England. She is an advocate for women empowerment especially in business and uses her platform to promote women’s enterprises.

She encourages young women to explore more in entrepreneurship. She had previously represented Liverpool at Miss Great Britain 2022 she placed as the first runner-up. She has the classic, elegant, English rose quality about her which is a great representation of British Culture. As she reminds me of Princess Kate Middleton the Princess of Wales, Duchess of Cornwall, and Cambridge. I think Great Britain has done an excellent job selecting the Miss Universe pageant as her social project to help women in business is perfect for this platform where Miss Universe is all about sisterhood and helping other women.

Miss Universe Guatemala 2023 Michelle Cohn

Michelle Cohn is the newly crowned Miss Universe Guatemala 2023, a mother of two, and is an entrepreneur, a television host, a radio announcer, and a professional model. The finale was held on 6th August 2023 at Gran Sala Efraín Recinos, Centro Cultural Miguel Ángel Asturias, Guatemala City, Guatemala. Michelle is 28 years of age and stands at the height of 179 cm 5 feet 19.5 inches tall.

Not new to the pageantry, Michelle had previously represented Guatemala at Miss Grand International 2013 at the Impact Arena in Bangkok, Thailand, where she was unplaced. In 2014, she represented Guatemala at Miss América Latina del Mundo 2013 at Barceló Maya Beach Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic where she was adjudged as the third runner-up.

Along with Michelle, Hassell Zúñiga from Izabal, Brianna Herrarte from Guatemala en USA, Cielo Pereira from Alta Verapez, Dayana García del Cid from San Raymundo, and Evelyn Tejada from Santa Catarina Pinula were adjudged first, second, third, fourth and fifth runners-up respectively.

Miss Universe Honduras 2023 Zuheilyn Clemente

Zuheilyn Clemente is 22 years of age and a TV Presenter at Televicentro HN by profession. She studied at Universidad Nacional Mayor de San Marcos.

Miss Universe Iceland 2023 Lilja Pétursdóttir

Lilja Síf Pétursdóttir is 19 years of age and a nursing home employee by profession. She represented the Capital Region at the competition and bested 15 other finalists to win the Miss Universe Iceland 2023 crown.

Miss Universe Indonesia 2023 Fabiënne Groeneveld

Fabiënne Nicole Groeneveld was born in the Netherlands and grew up in a bicultural family. She bested 29 other competitors to win the national crown. She represented DKI Jakarta at the pageant. The stunning Indonesian beauty is 23 years of age and a model and business graduate. She was crowned with the new ‘Shimmering Hope’ crown. Not a newbie to the pageantry, Fabiënne won the title of Miss Global Indonesia. She went on to represent her country at Miss Globe 2018 in the Philippines where she placed in the Top 20. She also won the Best in Evening Gown and Miss Photogenic awards.

Miss Universe Jamaica 2023 Jordanne Levy

In 2022, Levy earned her bachelor’s degrees in medicine and surgery from University of the West Indies in Mona, Jamaica. In March 2023, Levy started her medical internship at the University Hospital of the West Indies in Kingston.

Miss Universe Kazakhstan 2023 Tomiris Zair

The 24-year-old beauty from Astana has a bachelor’s degree in international law from the Eurasian National University and a master’s degree in law from Kokshetau University. She has also worked as a model participating in various projects of famous designers and photographers as well as Fashion Week events.

Miss Universe Kosovo 2023 Arbesa Rrahmani

Arbesa succeeds and was crowned by Miss Universe Kosovo 2022 Roksana Ibrahimi. She bested twenty three other contestants to win the national title. Arbesa performed with excellence and grace and impressed everyone with her strong walk and communication skills.

Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan Diami Almazbekova 

Age: 21 Height: 175cm 5’9″ Hometown: Bishkek

Miss Universe Kyrgyzstan Diami Almazbekova is 20 years of age and a professional model. She is currently based in Moscow, Russia. She competed against 20 other delegates where she won the national crown. She gave a strong competition to the delegates to win the crown with her charming personality and stunning beauty. Kyrgyzstan has recently started competing in Miss Universe since 2018 and Diami is the third woman from Kyrgyzstan to compete in the Miss Universe contest.

Miss Universe Laos 2023 Phaimany Lathsabanthao

She is 28 years old and has a degree in business administration from National University of Laos. It is her second time to compete at the nationals. Phaimany Lathsabanthao bested 14 other competitors to be crowned Miss Universe Laos 2023. She is 28 years of age and a business administration graduate of the National University of Laos. This was Phaimany’s second stint at the Miss Universe Laos competition as she was adjudged as the first runner-up last year. She also participated in Miss Laos twice where she won Miss Photogenic in 2018 and placed in the Top 15 in 2021.

Miss Universe Latvia 2023 Kate Alexeeva

The international model, influencer, and entrepreneur from Riga who recently walked the red carpet at Cannes Film Festival will for the second time, have her chance at representing her country on the prestigious platform. In October last year, she was crowned Miss Universe Latvia and was supposed to participate in the Miss Universe 2022 in New Orleans last January but withdrew after she tested for COVID-19 before departure. Hailing from Riga, Kate founded her own beauty and personal care brand Glambox. She is no stranger to pageantry, having joined the Top Model of the World and Miss Grand International competitions in the past.

Miss Universe Malta 2023 Ella Portelli

Ella Sophie Portelli is a 25-year-old interior designer. She bested 24 other competitors to win the national title. Ella, through her reign, wishes to empower and inspire others to never stop believing in themselves and to show that you can do anything you set your mind to. Ella attended the Malta College of Arts, Science and Technology (MCAST) where she studied spatial design and interior architecture. Not new to the pageantry, in 2020, Ella competed against 24 other candidates at Miss World Malta 2020 where she was runner-up to Naomi Dingli.

Miss Universe Mauritius Tatiana Beauharnais

Age: 23 Height: 175cm 5’9″ Hometown: Souillac 

Miss Universe Mauritius Tatiana Beauharnais enjoys playing sports as a striker in the Starlight volleyball team. It has inspired her to be healthy, dedicated, and mentally focused. Her biggest inspiration is Ciara American singer as her songs motivate her to be the best version of herself. Growing up in the island nation of Mauritius, she enjoys outdoor sports like snorkeling, boating, volleyball, and other activities. In myths, mermaids are said to be magical creatures. She would promote inter-species harmony of her country in the Miss Universe contest. She will communicate with marine or land animals to heal them when needed in the international pageant.

Miss Universe Namibia 2023 Jameela Uiras

She is 23 years of age and a fashion model and marketing strategist from Windhoek. Jameela also bagged the Miss Photogenic award.

Miss Universe Netherlands 2023 Rikkie Kollé

Rikkie Valerie Kollé created history at the national pageant as she became the first-ever transgender woman to win the national title of Miss Nederland. She is 22 years of age and a Dutch-Moluccan model and actress. Rikkie wants to be a voice and a role model for all young women and the LGBTQIA+ community. She knows better than anyone what it’s like to feel alone and not be surrounded by only positive thoughts.

She is the second transwoman to compete at Miss Universe after Spain’s Angela Ponce in 2018. As the Miss Universe pageant is about being inclusive and celebrating diversity as they have opened the doors for transwomen, married women, and single mothers. We wish her all the best in this journey to the Universe as she is not only representing the Netherlands but she is also the voice for the LGBTQIA+ community which consist of a big portion of the Miss Universe fanbase.

Miss Universe Nicaragua 2023 Sheynnis Palacios

The 23-year-old communications graduate and television host representing Diriamba bested 9 other competitors to win the national title. She succeeds Norma Huembes Salazar and will now represent Nicaragua at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. No stranger to pageantry, Sheynnis previously held the titles Miss Teen Nicaragua 2016 and Miss Mundo Nicaragua 2020 (Miss World Nicaragua). Last year, she went on to participate in the 70th Miss World pageant in Puerto Rico where she finished as one of the Top 40 semifinalists.

Miss Universe Norway 2023 Julie Tollefsen

Julie Tollefsen is 27 years of age and hails from Oslo, Norway. She is a Norwegian fashion designer and makeup artist by profession. She graduated from the Oslo campus of the École supérieure des arts et techniques de la mode (ESMOD). Previously, Julie has worked as a design assistant at ESP and as a product developer at Voice Norge AS. In 2022, she joined Varner, a fashion retailer in Asker, Viken, Norway, as a designer.

Miss Universe Paraguay 2023 Elicena Andrada

Elicena Andrada is 28 years of age and holds a degree in fine arts. She works as a commercial model in Spain and is also a tattoo artist who loves drawing and snowboarding. She took courses at Harvard University on child protection and children’s rights. Not new to the pageantry, Andrada first competed in a beauty pageant in 2017 at the Miss Latin America of the World pageant, where she won her first international crown. Her second pageant was Miss Grand Paraguay 2021 pageant where she was second runner-up, and last year she placed 1st runner-up to Miss World Paraguay.

Miss Universe Peru Camila Escribens was born in Lima, Peru, and lived in Miami, Florida, USA. She attended Clovis North High School in Fresno, CA. Her pageant experience started in 2019 as she represented the Peruvian community in the United States as Miss Peru USA at Miss Perú 2019. She became the first runner-up at Miss Grand Peru 2019.

Camila represented her country at Miss Grand International 2019 where she placed in the Top 10 with her outstanding performance. She returned to Miss Peru 2023 and won the main title with her experience, personality, and stunning beauty. Camila will represent Peru on an international stage such as Miss Universe. With the new ownership, the Miss Universe organization is looking for a ‘transformational queen’ and Camila suits the role.

Miss Universe Philippines 2023 Michelle Daniela Marquez Dee

Age: 27 Height: 178cm 5’10” Hometown: Makati City

Miss Universe Philippines Michelle Daniela Dee has graduated with a psychology degree from De La Salle University, Manila. She is the daughter of a former Miss International 1979 Melanie Marquez. Michelle is a pageant veteran as she competed at Miss World 2019 in London where she finished as the Top 12 semifinalist. She placed 1st Runner-Up in last year’s Miss Universe Philippines. Growing up with two autistic siblings made her empathize with people with special needs. It has inspired her to work with children with autism as the Goodwill Ambassador for Autism Society Philippines.

Michelle has founded a series of businesses such as Drip Therapy Co., WHAT FUTURE, and INVIRO INC. That focus on health, multi-media creation, and WEB3 adoption respectively. She is also the President of the Inner Peace Foundation, which was founded in 1981 by her grandmother Regina Dee (former director of Chinabank Corporation for over 20 years). Her outstanding resume is perfect for the Miss Universe organization as they are looking for a leader who can be a role model for many people. I believe Michelle can prove to everyone that she has empathy and humanity with her actions.

Miss Universe Poland 2023 Angelika Jurkowianiec

She is 26-year-old medical student and currently works in a dental clinic. She loves horseback riding and playing the piano and the guitar. As a model, she has walked the runway in different parts of the world including Spain, and Germany, and appeared in various magazines including Elle Girl, Grazia, L’Officiel Japan, and Mirror. Her stunning Eastern European features will make her stand out on the stage. I would like to hear how she sounds in English as I could not find any videos of her speaking in English but she does sound confident in her native language during the national pageant.

Miss Universe Saint Lucia 2023 Earlyca Frederick

Bryoni Natalie Govender has been officially announced as Miss Universe South Africa 2023 by the Miss Universe organization on an Instagram story. She will represent the rainbow nation of South Africa in 72nd Edition of Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. She had placed 1st Runner Up in Miss South Africa 2023 national pageant. Bryoni Govender is 27 years old from Kempton Park in Gauteng and is a qualified lawyer working as a trainee associate, whilst awaiting admission to become an attorney.

She describes herself as graceful, ambitious, and courageous, and loves a good mutton curry on the weekend. She adores animals but dogs are her favorite. She also loves traveling and would like to have a conversation with Angelina Jolie because of the way she uses her platform as an actress for women’s empowerment by shining a light on women’s and girls’ rights around the world.

Miss Universe Thailand 2023 Anntonia Porsild

Age: 26 Height: 175cm 5’9″ Hometown: Nakhon Ratchasima

She graduated from Stamford International University with a Bachelor’s degree in advertising and public relations. Ann grew up in many countries including Thailand, India, Vietnam, Denmark, and Spain. She is fluent in English and Thai languages. From 2009 to 2015, she attended the International School Ho Chin Minh City in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. The Face of Thailand Season 1, which aired in October 2014. She competed against 14 other contestants and finished 10th. Standing at the height of 175cm 5 feet 9 inches tall, Anntonia has previous modeling experience working nationally and internationally for many brands in different countries. From August 2013 to January 2015, she was an Operation Smile student volunteer and this experience has motivated her to start her own advocacy called Little Steps Projects founded in 2015. A community, activity, and service charity project that focuses on giving back to local communities in Thailand. As the founder of Little Steps, Anntonia has helped build a school library for children in Nakhon Ratchasima Province which is also her mother’s hometown. Social work she has been active for 10 years ago, her humanitarian work as she has helped thousands of people’s lives through her little steps project. Anntonia is the winner of Miss Supranational 2019 which was held in Poland.

Miss Universe Ukraine 2023 Angelina Usanova 

Age: Hometown: Kyiv

Angelina Usanova is a singer, songwriter, and musician. Writes and performs songs on the themes of peace, ecology, and love. Sound is a healer. After completing her studies in ashrams in Austria and India, she attained the title of yoga master. Since the beginning of a full-fledged invasion, Angelina held charity concerts to raise funds for humanitarian aid, organized housing for Ukrainian refugees in Europe, provided moral support to victims of the war through yoga, meditation, and sound healing, raised and donated funds to buy cars on the front for the project “Fast Evacuation”.

Angelina’s awards and crowning ceremony will take place in late August at Kyiv but in the meantime, enjoy fresh photos from Fadil Berisha. Now Angelina has arrived in the United States, where she has already begun preparing for the Miss Universe contest. We hope that with your support, Angelina will be able to represent Ukraine as worthy as possible at the largest world beauty contest “Miss Universe”.

Miss Universe Venezuela 2023 Diana Silva

Age: 25 Height: 178cm 5’10” Hometown: Caracas

Miss Universe Venezuela Diana Silva is a 25-year-old cabin crew, professional model, and TV entertainer who will represent her country in the 72nd Miss Universe. She is also an advertising student who enjoys creativity. She had many previous beauty pageant experiences as she had competed in Miss Earth 2018 where she placed in the Top 8 finalists. Diana considers herself a dedicated, focused, and responsible woman.

Her hidden talent includes acting as she started doing theatre at university where she easily combined with art. Diana has been part of different social activities with various non-profit organizations. Through her reign, she wants to create the Friends of the Elderly Initiative where the agenda is to develop actions that respond to the problems and potentialities of old age. Through her strong advocacy, stunning beauty, and charming personality, has now become a strong contender for the Miss Universe crown.
