Frontrunners of Miss Supranational 2023 beauty pageant

The 14th edition of the Miss Supranational 2023 will be held on 14 July 2023 in Poland. Lalela Mswane of South Africa will crown her successor at the end of the event. Starting in 2023, the Miss Supranational Organization has decided to accept women from the ages of 18 to 32 years old to participate in the pageant. The live show will be telecast through Polsat Television Channel throughout Poland and via Youtube for the international audience. As of 4 April 2023, 44 contestants have been confirmed to participate in the upcoming international event. Here are the stunning frontrunners of the Miss Supranational 2023 beauty pageant, hopeful to become the winner of the 14th edition.

Miss Brazil – Sancler Frantz 

Age: 31 Height: 175 cm (5 feet 9 inches) Hometown: Arroio do Tigre

Sancler Frantz is 31 years of age. Born in Arroio do Tigre, RS, Sancler becomes the first Miss Brazil crowned at the seat of the government of Rio Grande do Sul. Her appointment was done in an event filmed at Palácio Piratini, in Porto Alegre. She had previously competed at Miss World 2013 in Bali, Indonesia where she placed in the Top 5 finalists and won Miss World Americas. Frantz has also worked as a TV presenter on sports and entertainment programs on Pampa TV from Porto Alegre. In 2012, she was a finalist in a model reality presented by Ana Hickman on Record TV. On winning the Miss Supranational Brazil 2023 crown, Frantz took to her official social media as she wrote, “Just gratitude! The greatest pride I can feel is being called BRAZIL! Let’s go together in search of this achievement for our country! We have a lot of work ahead of us, and I’m counting on you, team!”

Miss Colombia – Valentina Mora 

Age: 25 Height: 174 cm (5 feet 8.5 inches) Hometown: Medellín

She graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in social communication from Escuela de Administración, Finanzas e Instituto Tecnológico University (English: School of Administration, Finance and Technological Institute). Mora represented Antioquia in Señorita Colombia 2022 and finished Virreina Nacional (1st Runner-Up) to Sofía Osío of Atlántico. She was crowned as Miss Supranational Colombia after she gave a flawless performance during the national pageant of Señorita Colombia 2023. She has advocated for a green future by working with Eco-schools, a program led by Corantioquia, which seeks to awaken environmental awareness in children and young people from their school environments, from simple actions such as recycling properly, planting, creating vegetable gardens and taking advantage of solar panels as an energy system. Valentina hopes to become the first Colombian woman to win the blue crown of Miss Supranational, the highest placement for Colombia was in 2017 when Tica Martinez finished 1st Runner-Up to South Korea’s Jenny Kim.

Miss Ecuador Andrea Aguilera

Age: 22 Height: 180 cm (5 feet 11 inches) Hometown: Ventanas

She was studying medicine at the University of Guayaquil, in 2021 paused her career by the pageant. In 2022, she started studying bachelor’s degree in International Business at the UEES. Her previous international pageant experience will give her a boost of confidence in the stage presentation and delivery of a spectacular performance on the global stage. During the Miss Grand International 2021 contest, she was the heavy fan favorite for the crown due to her stellar presentation however, her communication skills became a problem that lead her to end up as the 1st Runner-Up. Andrea was appointed Miss Supranational Ecuador 2023 and will represent Ecuador at Miss Supranational 2023 beauty pageant held on 14 July 2023 in Poland. It has been two years since her last stint and her preparation will be witnessed by the pageant community who are waiting to support Andrea to become the first Ecuadorian woman to clinch the Miss Supranational title.

Miss India – Pragnya Ayyagari 

Age: 21 Height: 171cm (5 feet 7.5 inches) Hometown: Hyderabad

Pragnya Ayyagari is a fashion design student and an ardent lover of nature. She is a trained Bharatnatyam dancer who enjoys playing chess and loves binging K-dramas in her spare time. Pragnya served as the head girl of her school as well and took all responsibilities with pride and honor. Coming from a conservative family, she aspires to become a professional model and inspire young girls that no dream is too big. She aspires to start up a sustainable fashion brand and influence people to adopt a sustainable way of living and conserve natural resources. Miss India hopes to become the third Indian woman to win the Miss Supranational title after Asha Bhat (2014) and Srinidhi Shetty (2016), to bring glory and pride to her country.

Miss Peru Valeria Flórez 

Age: 26 Height: 171cm (5 feet 7.5 inches) Hometown: Lima

Valeria Flórez is 25 years of age and stands at the height of 171 cm tall. The stunning beauty is a communicator by profession, an actress, and a television host. Valeria is a fluent speaker of Spanish and English as well which makes her a strong contender for the crown. She is the host of ‘A Day at the Mall’ and is now preparing for her international stint. Valeria has a strong stage presence and dominates the cameras very well. Being a committed and disciplined person, she succeeds in everything she undertakes. She competed at Miss Peru 2022 where she finished as 2nd Runner-Up.

Miss South Africa Ayanda Thabethe 

Age: 22 Height: 165 cm (5 feet 5 inches)Hometown: KwaZulu-Natal 

The 22-year-old was in her final year of her BSc in Dietetics and Human Nutrition at the University of KwaZulu Natal. Ayanda is passionate about South Africa’s healthcare system, specifically in the nutrition-related sectors, and will be devoting herself to this during her year as runner-up. She started a campaign called #nyakazani which aims to get community members involved in responding to crises.” She explains why she entered Miss South Africa: “I have always pictured myself as a role model for young women. Growing up I read about female trailblazers and always thought of myself as one too. I entered the competition because I am a driven woman who wants to make changes for the better of our country.” Ayanda lists her role models as the bold women who came before her, women who made something of themselves and were selfless enough to pave a path for other women in their respective fields. These women include her grandmother (whom she refers to as a warrior), Naomi Campbell (who inspired Ayanda to want a career in the modeling industry), and Maya Angelou (who sparked her love of literature).

Miss Thailand First Wang Patraporn Wang

Age: 28 Height: 183 cm (6 feet) Hometown: Bangkok

First Patraporn Wang is a Thai Taiwanese model and beauty who has a pageant veteran with many titles under her belt. Born on 15 December 1994 to a Taiwanese father and Thai mother in Bangkok, Thailand. First has been focused on education as she is a Master’s student of Marketing and Brand Communication at the Faculty of Communication Arts at Dhurakij Pundit University. In 2014, First joined her first beauty pageant at 19 years old where she finished 3rd Runner-Up at Miss Grand Thailand and had the opportunity to represent Thailand at the Miss Intercontinental contest, where she was crowned the winner of Miss Intercontinental 2014. Five years later, she tried her luck at Miss Universe Thailand 2019. Her elegant and sophisticated performance during the preliminary competition received positive feedback from the pageant community and she placed Top 5 finalists in the final event. In 2022, she received intensive training in her communication skills and runway stage presentation preparation from the esteemed pageant coaches. First was praised once again for her outstanding stage presence and her runway abilities, however, her speaking skills were a barrier during the national pageant and she finished in the Top 10 semi-finalists. Standing at the towering height of 183cm 6 foot tall with an outstanding stage presence has made First Wang one of the front runners for the national title of Miss Supranational Thailand 2023 where she managed to win many special awards as well as Supra Factor awards for Audition Day, Thai Night, Miss Supra Glass Skin, Miss US Master Polo Club, Miss Supra Authentic Influencer by Chat and she won the fan favorite award of the Miss Supra Fan Vote. First Wang wishes to be the second Thai woman to win the Miss Supranational crown after Anntonia Porsild in 2019.
