Vietnam – On 29 March, the Miss Universe Vietnam organization made a public announcement regarding their upcoming national pageant. Last year’s Miss Universe Vietnam 2022 1st runner-up, Lรช Thแบฃo Nhi was a fan favorite due to her impressive background and outstanding communication skills in both Vietnamese and English languages. Unfortunately, she will not represent Vietnam at the 72nd Miss Universe competition in El Salvador, later this year.
According to the new Miss Universe 2023 rules, to participate in the Miss Universe competition, the national pageant must be held annually and only the winner will be nationally represented at Miss Universe 2023 in El Salvador. In the spirit of collaboration that benefits and honors Unicorp’s huge contribution to the development of Miss Universe in Vietnam, we have asked Miss Universe to allow runner-up Thao Nhi to represent Vietnam in this year’s pageant. Despite the two sides, an agreement could not be reached on the transfer of the management of runner-up Thao Nhi to Miss Universe Vietnam – a mandatory requirement of the Miss Universe organizers for her to participate in the pageant. We understand and respect Unicorp’s view on this issue. We pledge to choose a worthy Vietnamese representative to represent the country in the 72nd Miss Universe competition in El Salvador and strive to bring the best achievement to Vietnam. We will not stop trying to develop, and honor the beauty, and talent of Vietnamese women and bring the audience the best experiences at Miss Universe 2023. We greatly appreciate your support and enthusiasm for Miss Universe and the pageant’s mission in uplifting the role of women globally. We believe that together, we can create positive change and inspire future generations to pursue their dreams.
Due to the recent changes done by the JKN management of the Miss Universe organization, they have requested all the national pageants to conduct a physical beauty pageant to send their delegates for the 72nd edition international pageant scheduled for late 2023 in El Salvador.
