Tharina Botes make a comeback to Miss Universe Thailand 2023

Tharina Botes (ทารีน่า โบเทส) is a Thai South African model and beauty queen with an established record of working in the public relations and communications industry. She was born on 17 November 1996 (26 years old) at Roodepoort, Gauteng in South Africa. Growing up in the multicultural nation of South Africa has taught her the value of embracing diversity and learning about different cultures and traditions. Her grandmother Madeline Botes has been her biggest inspiration in life and is the most lovable and caring person she knows. Her South African father works in the motor industry and her Thai mother runs the Jasmine Thai Day Spa in Ferndale, Gauteng, South Africa. A creative person who enjoys visual arts and plays different sports to stay healthy. Tharina is a pageant veteran who had competed and won several titles under her belt including Miss Teen Gauteng 2014, she represented South Africa in Miss International 2016 in Tokyo, Japan but she was unplaced. She finished her education in commerce at Damelin. In 2018, she participated in Miss South Africa 2018 and placed among the Top 12 semi-finalists. In 2019, she returned to Phuket, Thailand after she graduated with a Bachelor’s degree in Commerce and Economics from the University of South Africa.

She was crowned the winner of Miss Grand Phuket 2019 and it allowed her to represent her Province on the national stage of Miss Grand Thailand 2019 at the Bangkok International Trade and Exhibition Centre, in Bangkok. Despite not being fluent in the Thai language, she managed to place in the Top 10 semi-finalists. Her presence on the Miss Grand Thailand stage helped her get many sponsor deals including being a luxury brand ambassador in Phuket. In 2021, she represented Phuket at the 22nd edition Miss Universe Thailand beauty pageant, she was one of the frontrunners for the crown being the fan favorite since the start of the competition. Tharina finished 1st Runner-Up to Anchilee Scott-Kemmis.

Tharina has a captivating stage presence standing at the towering height of 180cm 5 feet 11 inches tall, with a gorgeous figure, and outstanding beauty making her an ideal candidate for Miss Universe Thailand. She has confirmed her comeback on her Instagram post, saying: “This is the beginning 💫💫💫”

After her impressive performance during Miss Universe Thailand, many fans have been waiting for Tharina to make a return to the national stage. Her Team Phuket has been working hard to improve her communication skills and her speech delivery was lacking during the contest. Tharina has gone through intensive preparation since 2021 and the pageant community is waiting for her to win the main crown of Miss Universe Thailand and represent the land of smiles on the Miss Universe stage.
